Automated Valet Parking Service Powered by Private 5G

Stanley Robotics is a high-tech company that combines hardware and software to provide solutions for outdoor logistics. The technology is based on a robot that autonomously lifts and moves cars and intelligent storage management software. Robotics has transformed indoor logistics (e.g. in warehouses), leading to a dramatic increase in productivity. Stanley Robotics' ambition is to bring this transformation to outdoor logistics through its own technologies. Founded in 2015, the SME is headquartered in Paris, France, and is also behind the world's first outdoor robotic valet parking service.

This video from WonderWorld is a good introduction to the company and introduces Stan, the outdoor automated robotic valet parking system, made by Stanley Robotics:

Recently Firecell, the Private 5G specialists based in France, announced that they are working with Stanley Robotics and have successfully implemented a private 5G network in Lyon airport’s parking area, where Stanley’s robots are increasing space efficiency by 50%. This P5G network powers autonomous robots, ensuring robust, extended connectivity, and ultra-reliable performance.

The following video provides more detail about the solution:

This is just another out-of-the-box use case for a private network solution. As the technology matures and comes down in price further, we will see a lot more innovative use cases like these.
